A New Chapter

Well, we're here! Audia and I arrived in Minnesota (with the help of my mom - thanks, mom!) on the 29th. The flight went really well, thank goodness. I was so worried that because Audia is now so mobile, and asserting her independence more and more by the day, the flight was going to be hell. But she did really well, even taking a nap for part of it! The first couple of days we were here there was no real "settling" to be done; none of our stuff was here yet, so it was more like a mini vacation.

Chris and my dad arrived on the 3rd with the moving truck. Their trip went well; no break downs or bad weather, so that was a blessing :-). Monday Chris and my dad unloaded the stuff that we need here at the house, and on Tuesday Kit and John helped us unload the rest of the stuff at a storage facility. We still haven't completely settled in yet, but we're getting there. I am hoping to have most of our stuff unpacked by Thursday.

The commotion and change in environment took a bit of a toll on our sweet Audia, I think, although it is hard to tell if her 'clinginess' the past week has been because of the move or because she is developing so quickly right now. My guess is that it's a combination. In the time since we arrived in Minnesota, she has started side-stepping around the edges of coffee tables and play pens, standing with only one hand holding on, waving, saying "bye-bye", and clapping her hands. Apparently springtime in MN is all it took to trigger a plethora of milestones!

Speaking of springtime in Minnesota.....it is sooooo beautiful here! I forgot how green it gets! All of the trees are getting baby leaves on them, the apple blossoms, tulips, and dafodils are blooming, and the grass!! There is soft, plush grass everywhere. It's so nice. Audia absolutely loves crawling around my parents huge backyard, as does Cooper (well, Cooper doesn't crawl, but you know what I mean!) We have been taking walks around the neighborhood every day, and Audia loves watching all of the bunnies and squirrels and kids playing. Whenever she starts having a "moment", we just take her out on a walk or take her into the back yard and she's good as new :-)

So far I am really enjoying living with my parents again; we have our own living area in the basement so there is a bit of separation when we need or want it, but it is nice to have the extra hands with Audia, and I really enjoy having dinner with them every night. No ones stepping on anyone elses feet yet, so that's a good thing. Plus, Cooper and Buddy are getting along great! I think they both really enjoy having a friend to hang out with. Buddy is really great with Audia, too.

Well, that's it for now. Tomorrow is Mother's Day, so Happy Mother's Day, Mom! I couldn't ask for a more supportive, understanding, caring Mom; I love you with all my heart!
