Callen at 2 months

Callen's 2 month appointment was a couple of days ago. At 15 lbs, 3 oz and 25 inches long, he is in the 97th percentile for weight and off the charts for height! It is crazy to think that at 2 months, he is the size of the average 5 month old!

Doctor S was very impressed with his neck control and ability to hold himself up/steady. He's definitely a strong little boy; when he's on his belly he is already able to push himself forward with his feet like a little rocket.

In other developments, we had to move Callen from the basinette into the crib because he reached the weight limit for the basinette we were using. The transition has been a little rough; The mattress on the crib is quite a bit more firm and apparently our little dude doesn't like firm mattresses. The first few days, he refused to sleep in it at all during the day and at night was waking up every hour to two hours. Thankfully he's now sleeping a little better at night, for 4 hours and then waking every 2-2.5. But he still will only sleep in it during the day some of the time. Thankfully he will snooze in the bouncy seat or the swing, unlike his sister who napped in my lap for a whole year.

Callen is also now not only smiling all the time but also babbling all the time. It is so funny to hear him "talk." Check him out below. Isn't he just the cutest??

The past few weeks

So, it's been a while since I've written. Time has been slipping away from me! I think it's because spring came early this year, and we have been spending absolutely as much time outside as humanly possible. We can't get enough of the outdoors!!

So, a quick recap: The friday before Easter, we had a play date with N and A and took the girls to the mall for a little bit. While we were there, we decided to get a photo of both girls with the Easter Bunny. The girls were both so excited to see him again (even though he was a different bunny than the last one they saw), and I love the photo we got.

Easter itself was quiet and laid back. Audia got a bunch of new toys, including her first My Little Pony, and a drum kit, which she LOVES!
She can actually play the harmonica pretty darn well (if I do say so myself!). Check this out!
Between her love of playing the drum, piano, xylophone, and harmonica, and her hourly (literally) requests for the people around her to sing, I am pretty sure music will be a big part of her life.
As I said, we've been spending a ton of time outside. Between playing in the back yard,

going to the playground,

going for multiple walks a day,

and going to a park near our house,

Audia hardly wants to be inside at all anymore! Lucky for us the weather has been killer nice for a couple of weeks now, but I am really worried what will happen if we get a bunch of rain (as is typical for MN in April)! I suppose we will spend a lot of time at Como Conservatory!

Quick Post

Just a little post to say I've uploaded a bunch of new videos, which can be found here. Enjoy!!

16 months old!

Happy New Years! We had a very nice week last week. We started it off with our Annual Snow Bocce Ball Tournament. Except it wasn't really a tournament this year so much as a round, because a few people couldn't make it.
Brrrr!

We're hoping to have another tournament in February. It was a lot of fun, though! Seeing Audia and A all bundled up was a lot of fun.

Cuties all bundled up!

My MN friends are the best :-) Auntie Anita (of Anita Lynn) and Uncle Joe Joe

With my BFF, J

The next two days I got to get out and have some adult girl time with my oldest friend, E, (we've known eachother for 24 years this year!!) who was in town from Chicago, and also with my BFF, N (who I've been friends with for 10 years now, but have known for a while longer.) It was much needed, and so much fun. Wednesday, Chris and I saw our first movie in theaters since before Audia was born! My parents watched Audia while we went with N and D to see Avatar in 3D. It was fantastic! Much more an experience than a movie, in my opinion. I highly recommend that everyone see it in 3D. It was crazy. Our New Years eve was nice and quiet, which I loved. After Audia was in bed, we watched TV and hung out with N and D. Can you tell we like spending time with them? LOL. I can't wait for the day that they move to the cities and N and A and Audia and I can have play dates every week. :-)

So, Audia will be 16 months old this Friday! Due to some confusion/mis-communication at her 12 month doctor's appointment, we didn't schedule a 15 month visit, which we should have. So, we went in yesterday to catch up. Audia is doing very well, as usual. The doc was very impressed with her expansive vocabulary, her ability to stack blocks, and her ability to walk backwards (which I didn't realize was a milestone.....). She's still in the 97th percentile for height, but has dropped below the 50th percentile for weight. The doc said it's nothing to worry about yet, especially because of how healthy she is and how much she eats. I think she's just bound to be a tall, lanky girl like her daddy! (except he's not a girl...haha!)

Here's a video of Audia playing with one of her new favorite toys (her other favorite is Elmo Live):

Army Crawling

Here's a video of Audia doing her "army crawl". In the matter of about two days, she's gone from doing it once or twice a day to doing it CONSTANTLY when she's on the floor.....there's no stopping her once she's figured something out! She is definitely a "willfull". (My Uncle Bob refers to my parents and I as "the willfulls" (-: )
